Hi friends!

Tomorrow I’ll be jet-setting across the country to see Mitch in Seattle, and I’m so excited!

First and foremost, I’m excited to see him (obviously), but also to see the Pacific Northwest for the first time— I’ve never been, and I only ever hear good things about this area in the summertime. It’ll be nice to (hopefully) escape the humidity and heat in Virginia.

Of course, I’ve been thinking about what I want to wear! We’ll be doing a little bit of everything: drinking copious amounts of coffee, going on a hike or two, exploring the neighborhoods we’re staying in, and working/checking emails in the mornings… so there’s a lot to account for.

I’ve been really loving pattern and texture lately— especially in pieces that can be transitioned from season to season, and having pieces that I can layer for chilly nights are getting first dibs from my closet. There was definitely an itch to shop before I left because I felt inspired by and pulled to things I don’t currently own; however, I don’t want to just ‘shop, shop, shop’ without a goal or purpose, so I’m trying to tamp that down… at least until I’ve made it to the West Coast!

Some of the pieces I’m bringing with me to Seattle:

These pieces together don’t feel super cohesive to me, but I know I love each of them, they’re comfortable, and I can focus on my time with Mitch instead of on my clothes!

What do you love to pack for a summer getaway? Do you have something that always comes with you, like a favorite pair of jeans?

See you from the Emerald City, friends!
