Hi friends,
If you’re like me, you’ve been seeing ads for Zendaya’s new movie Challengers everywhere! You may also often make the tough daily decision of athletic wear/athleisure or dressing up.
If you fall into the camp of wanting your proverbial cake and eating it too, but struggle to find the perfect balance of preppy, chic, comfortable-but-not-so-comfortable-I-wouldn’t-want-to-accidentally-run-into-an-ex, then I have the stuff for you!
It’s giving “I could go play tennis right now but maybe I’ll go sip an aperol spritz on my lunch break.” Ah, what a world!
Here are the pieces I am grabbing instantly to feel 1) more like Zendaya, because she’s a queen and 2) to rock my most pickle-ball/tennis vibes all spring and summer long:
- This racket set that looks so chic! Please do not ask me how many vintage tennis rackets I have save on FB Marketplace to hang on my walls.
- A ball cap is a must when the weather warms up, and I prefer ones that have a cute saying on the front.
- Vintage sunnies? Yes please. No squinty eyes here.
- This library book charm is so sweet, especially as we’ll all be cracking open our Elin Hilderbrand books when we’re sun tanning on the beach.
- I prefer my martinis with gin and a twist, but I’m not above buying a candle for the look… oops!
- My fiancé said, “oh no, not the strap on shoes” when he saw these… but he’s not the fashion blogger, is he? (But now I’m wondering if someone will ask me if these light up when I walk and I’m self conscious…)
- Yes, yes, this is a Zimmermann dress I cannot (YET) afford, but we’re manifesting that because it’s stunning and quite frankly I think I could be buried in it and still look amazing (both me and the dress).
- If I believed in reincarnation, I’d probably come back as a striped sweater because I love them so much.
- Skorts are back, and I’m here for it. I had a skort when I was a kid that I wore for something ridiculous like 5 years straight— I bet my mom was thrilled when she finally got to throw it out.
- To guac or not to guac? There is no question.
- Given my love of gin, this was an immediate add to cart. Will maybe cover up the vulgarity for guests, maybe not.
- I have been heavily influenced to partake in the Mary Janes trend as well as the mesh shoe trend, so why not combine them with a raffia-knit Mary Jane?
