It’s gift guide season— and if you’re anything like me, it’s both overwhelming and incredibly inspiring! To see all the things that people are loving, coveting, and preparing to give to loved ones has a really unique grasp on the blogging/Instagramming sphere, and I do love it… no matter how overwhelming and consumeristic it can be.
Last week, I started working on this gift guide after yet another clip of You’ve Got Mail filtered across my Instagram “For You” page. I mentioned to Mitch that we should watch it, and to my surprise he said that he’d never seen it (or heard of it)! For a movie-buff, I was shocked. After that, I started thinking of little things that Kathleen Kelly might delight in to receive as a gift this holiday season— a new pair of loafers, a thick woolen scarf, a new vase for the steady stream of fresh flowers in her apartment…
Things that are practical, sensible, yet beautiful strike me as the perfect balance for the girl who, just like Kathleen, might be wondering about her life and all the things that she’s collected and made part of her ethos while she waits for an email from a friend… or someone more…
Like Kathleen, don’t be afraid to source some of these things secondhand too, or find something that’s similar even if not the exact thing! There’s nothing better than giving something a second well-loved life!
1: A pair of blue-light glasses for late night reading and emailing.
2: New loafers to traverse across the city and to keep you comfortable all day long.
3: The perfect woolen swing dress. I’d pair this with a lace-y button down and tights. Add loafers or knee-high boots for a cozy winter outfit!
4: Cashmere-lined gloves that will keep your hands warm.
5: The ultimate curl-up-cozy book. Others I love are Emma and autobiographies!
6: When you’re too lazy to do your hair, a French hair pin is perfect! I just learned how to use these and I’m obsessed!
7: Every reader needs a good bedside table lamp! I love the print on this one.
8: Beautiful pajamas make your nighttime routine more intentional and special! One day I’ll transition away from a tee and old shorts…
9: Can any 90s romcom bedroom be complete without a floral quilt set?
10: While emails are fine, a handwritten note is always so intentional and lovely thing to receive! Why not make them extra special?
11: No home feels as good as one with fresh flowers— putting them in a beautiful vase makes them the star of the home!
Happy hunting xx
