Although traveling (via plane) was looking a little dicey there for a while, things seem to be settling down before the holidays, and it’s likely going to be another record year of travel here in the United States! Whether you’re jetting to Europe to see the Christmas Markets, heading back to the Midwest to visit family, or are driving cross-country for a Friendsgiving, these travel companions will never steer you wrong!
I firmly believe that having “go-to” things that you can always rely on for packing makes the job way less stressful and daunting! I keep my makeup bag always ready to go, and have a stash of toiletries at the ready. That was a trick I took away from Grace Atwood of The Stripe waaaaay back in the day, and it’s served me well from when I was a bright-eyed corporate girl to today when we visit my in-laws!
And if you’re a fan of the “dress up to travel” mentality like I am, having a few hero pieces that make you feel extra chic are always worth investing in!
MY FAVORITES:
– AIR. TAGS. That’s all I need to say. I can be a little neurotic about my bag if I have to gate-check it, so being able to see where it is at all times is incredibly reassuring! It’s also a great way to keep track of important things like your wallet or keys.
– This year, I made the decision to start investing in my pyjamas and it’s been a fantastic experiment! Not only do I feel a little more put together when I go to bed, but it’s made the wind-down process much more enjoyable too!
– Shoe trees might sound overrated, but I can’t recommend them enough, especially for travel. They help keep your shoes from getting squished in your bag, and will help break in new leather shoes as well!
– I will die on the hill of silk scarves! This one from Hermès is under $200 on The Real Real and is the perfect way to feel a little more put together after a long drive or flight. (P.S., it’s secondhand, so if you’re interested, snatch. it. up!!!!!)
